To some it might sound a bit strange but this trip was very unusual to me. I had booked "Gurgaon Industrial Trip" of CII which was held on 28th & 29th May'09.
I had booked Jammu Tawi for Ahmedabad-Delhi and Haridwar Mail for Delhi-Ahmedabad. But thanks to the recent riots in Punjab, Jammu Tawi was cancelled and I had to opt for flight. I booked a evening flight of spicejet and started for Ahmedabad by bus. Reached airport, boarded the flight (slight delayed), reached Delhi.
Stayed in Paharganj at night and then went to Gurgaon by a bus (quite comfortable journey). Reached the guest house where the members were suppose to meet. First day was fine I visited Mindarika Pvt. Ltd & Munjal Showa Ltd & returned to the GH by evening. Where strangely I cracked the deal with the owner for room for Rs. 1000/- only. (where as all the other members were charged Rs. 2500/-).
Second day was fine but I was a bit tensed as my ticket wasn't confirm. I kept on checking the PNR status but it showed "Waiting & Chart not prepared". Finally a friend sent me message regarding confirmation of my ticket later in the evening & I was much relieved.
I reached Gurgaon station at 11:00 PM after watching a movie at PVR and some shopping. Train arrived a bit late and throughout the journey it kept delaying and hence I lost my proposed connection at Ahmedabad. So once I arrived at Ahmedabad I had to rush to bus stand.
There I couldn't find a bus so hitch-hiked a government car that left me about 70 kms away from my town. There I found a loading type rickshaw (Chota Hathi fame) and boarded it. The driver was pretty slow and hence those 70 kms took full 2 hours and finally I reached my home at 00:00 hrs after walking about 1 kms along with my luggage.
I hope that you would have figured out the strangeness of this trip... It had started with a plane and ended in a loading rickshaw & I used Bus, Train, Passenger Rickshaw, Cycle Rickshaw & Metro in between.
Neverever in my life I have used so many modes of transport in a single trip spanning only 4 days! Surely it's worth remembering.
The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the world's population.
Talent brings recognition. Hard work gathers riches. Being lucky or born rich still beats everything.
With a woman, you can never win an argument by logic or reason. The key to shut them up is to say something completely stupid and irrelevant.
Without a doubt, women are the foundation stone of the society; but always remember who laid them.
I have a triplog of my visit to Ladakh in June, 2007. I think those were the best days of my life. I felt as if I was on top of the world. Actually I wasn't even willing to return back home but as all good things come to an end, it also ended... Checkout the triplog here
As you might have noted, I am a wanderer by heart. I love travelling and even more I enjoy to plan my trips. I love travelling to exotic/remote destinations like Ladakh, Andaman, Lakshadweep and similar.
But the trouble is that I seldom find time to fulfill my wishes due to hectic work schedules. Even on my business trips I take out some time to see the happening places of the area.
Shall keep on posting more interesting things about myself and my surroundings.
Keep in touch.
Ciao.
